Students collected water quality data from the north fork of the Payette river this Fall and were asked to perform an in depth analysis of the results. Students collected data on dissolved oxygen, phosphates, nitrates, fecal coliforms, pH, temperature and turbidity. The lab activity was designed to give students an opportunity to get a better understand of how quantitative data is used to perform a qualitative analysis, while also reinforcing their understanding of nutrient cycling and energy flow.
