Heartland High School awards $5,000 to local non-profit organizations through the Idaho Community Foundation - Youth In Philanthropy grant.

Students worked through the 5-week process to learn how philanthropy can have a positive impact on our community. Students reviewed each grant application (over 20 local organizations applied), held several selection discussions, and proceeded to conduct great deliberations. Heartland High School students chose 5 different non-profit organizations in the McCall area to receive grant funding. Representatives from the local organizations attended an awards ceremony at Heartland High School on May 8 to receive their certificates, presented by the students.

The recipients chosen by the students are: Payette Lakes Community Association, the Shepherd's Home, Toby's Place, the McCall Senior and Community Center, and Ignite Idaho for a total of $5,000.

Thank you to the Idaho Community Foundation and the Youth In Philanthropy Project for this profound opportunity!
