3. Blue Cross of Idaho

Congratulations to our school district for being chosen by Representative Matt Bundy to receive award funds from the Steps for Schools walking challenge! Powered by the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health, this annual event saw legislators and elected officials walking throughout February, aiming for an average of 5,000 or 10,000 steps per day to earn funds for schools.

The Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health, Inc. is awarding our school a $1000 Foundation Grant. Whether it's purchasing new physical activity equipment, supporting walking programs, or any other charitable, educational, scientific, or literary purpose, the choice is ours to make a positive impact on our students' health and well-being.

4. Capital Project Update

In the realm of Staff Housing, progress is evident as snow removal initiates, paving the way for excavation to resume promptly. Additionally, curb and gutter preparations and roadway paving are underway, setting the stage for vertical work to commence around the second week of June.

Transitioning to PLMS, our focus remains steadfast on security and safety enhancements. Plans are in motion for the installation of a security vestibule, front office remodeling, and the implementation of a two-story locker system, alongside a comprehensive update of the band room to ensure improved supervision and instrument accommodation. Moreover, all-new doors and hardware, as well as a fresh parking lot with sidewalks for parent pick-up, are slated to commence on June 10, with the entire campus undergoing necessary upgrades during the summer months.

Finally, at MDECC, preparations are underway for the installation of a new playground, generously funded by grants and donations. This initiative kicks off on Wednesday, showcasing our commitment to providing engaging and safe outdoor spaces for our students.
