A huge shoutout to Perpetua Resources for supporting our kids and schools!

School Board Election – Unofficial Results

Zone 1 – Laura McGeorge
Zone 2 – Kelly Miller

The MDSD School Board would like to thank Jim Cole and Jon Walker for their dedicated service as members of the school board. Their tireless commitment and passion for education have made a lasting impact on our students, teachers, and the entire district.

CTE Program Update

MDHS currently has six highly successful CTE programs, showcasing an impressive diversity that is capturing the attention of students and broadening their perspectives to a wealth of exciting opportunities. We are thrilled to be able to offer this many CTE programs, a remarkable accomplishment for a school of our size.

HRS Boise Training

In October, 12 members of the district staff seized the opportunity to participate in Marzano Training in Boise, immersing themselves in two days of Level 2 instructional strategies. The training provided clear, actionable steps for implementing instruction, ensuring effective utilization of the 43 elements of instruction, and fostering a deeper understanding of the HRS process at the classroom level. This professional development has proven to be highly valuable, challenging individuals to expand their skills. Ultimately, it contributes to our continuous growth as a district, enhancing the overall educational experience for our students.

“The training clarified ways I can implement the 43 elements of instruction effectively. Understanding and incorporating these elements into my teaching practices has already begun to yield positive results in the classroom. The clarity provided by the training has been instrumental in refining my instructional techniques.”

Clearwater Financial Update

Our work continues with Clearwater Financial to develop a survey tool aimed at assisting our board members in understanding the community's perspectives on student population growth concerns and staff housing. Our goal is to provide the board with valuable insights and feedback. We anticipate having this information to the board by January 2024.

MDECC Mascot

Exciting news from the McCall-Donnelly Early Childhood Center! After a vote by our board members, our mischievous, clever, and downright adorable friend, the fox, has officially become the MDECC mascot.

There are still spots available at MDECC, and they’re just waiting for some little adventurers to fill them up! Please call 208-630-5002 for more information.
