High School Credit
Select students in middle school may have the opportunity to take specific classes for high school credit. Students enrolled in these classes are not guaranteed high school credit unless academic and attendance requirements are met. Due to state requirements, middle school students attempting high school credit must meet high school accreditation standards for successful completion. (Please see State/District Carnegie unit credit requirements.) For middle school purposes, middle school students must not miss more than 8 classes per semester to be eligible for high school credit. If credit is not achieved due to absences, students are still able to complete the class for middle school credit and advancement to the next appropriate class.
Students enrolled in high school credit classes at Payette Lakes Middle School will automatically be enrolled to receive credit. If parents wish to opt out of credit due to undesirable grades or some other reason, they can opt out of having those credits on their child's high school transcripts by written notification to either school.
