Board of Trustees Information

The McCall-Donnelly School District Board of Trustees consists of five members who are elected by the voters of the district. Board members serve four-year staggered terms and represent a specific geographic area. The board sets school policies within the guidelines of the law and the Idaho State Board of Education. Trustees are responsible for the following tasks:

  • Set and evaluate school district goals
  • Decide how district money is spent and approve the budget.
  • Select the superintendent.
  • Serve as a liaison between the schools and the community.
  • Stay current with educational trends and work toward change when necessary.
  • Approve personnel changes and salaries.
  • Approve district instructional programs.

The public is welcome to attend school board meetings. Board meetings are held the second Monday of the month and begin at 6:30 PM. Special sessions are announced to the public in advance. For a schedule of the board meetings please call (208) 634-2161.

Pattie has served on the Board since the fall of 2006. She holds 2 Bachelor of Science Degrees and has completed graduate work from the University of Idaho. Pattie has worked for the Forest Service for 27 years in a variety of locations around the country and is currently the Forest Planner for the Payette National Forest. She has a son that graduated from McCall-Donnelly and the University of Idaho and a daughter that is attending the high school. Pattie has been involved in the Athletic Booster Club.

Jon joined the board in September 2012. In 2004 Jon and his wife, Sara moved to McCall where he accepted the position of executive director at Quaker Hill Camp and Conference Center.  Jon has worked extensively with, and designed programs for youth of all ages during his 19-year camp career.  Jon loves providing a safe place for kids to build confidence, relationships, learn life skills, explore the beautiful outdoors and have fun! In his free time, Jon enjoys recreational skiing, sailing, fishing, surfing and hockey. Jon and Sara's three boys attend Barbara Morgan Elementary School.

Laurie is committed to supporting, fostering and improving public education.  She graduated from Portland State University and earned a Masters of Public Administration/Educational Administration degree from Lewis and Clark College in Portland. After spending 20 years in Oregon as a teacher and administrator, Laurie returned to Idaho in 1998 to serve as the Payette Lakes Middle School principal.  She retired from the McCall-Donnelly School District in 2005, working as a consultant for a strategic planning firm specializing in higher education.  Laurie and her husband Scott reside in McCall.  They have three sons and four grandchildren. They are owners of Lightning Creek Outfitters, a non-profit whitewater rafting company which they established to share their love of the outdoors.

Kathy came to McCall after graduating from the University of Idaho in 1975. An English teacher at McCall-Donnelly High School for thirty-three years, she also coached track and basketball and served as the district’s athletic director. She retired from teaching in 2008.  She is the author of five books and a member of the Idaho Humanities Council Speakers’ Bureau. She has served as a mentor for new teachers and is involved with the Long Valley Chapter of AAUW.

An Idaho native, Frank is a founder and current President of the Long Valley Preservation Society, established in 1973. LVPS operates the Valley County Museum in Roseberry, Idaho. The museum project includes twenty-five buildings, including the original General Store which Frank operates in the summer.

Frank is a graduate of McCall Donnelly schools and Columbia University, New York. He is a preservationist, teacher, writer, and a former County Commissioner. Frank has traveled countrywide, documenting and lecturing on Finnish log construction.
