Guest Teachers are needed so please contact our District Office to apply.
The school district is always in need of more guest teachers. You do not need to have a teaching credential to be a guest teacher. The process is shown below:
Application Process: Come to the District office at 120 Idaho Street to pick up an application packet, which includes an application, W-4, I-9 and emergency contact information sheet. This packet also includes a fingerprint card that is taken to the sheriff's office, then brought back to the District office with a $40.00 check that is then sent to the Idaho Department of Education so that a State Criminal Background check and Sex Offender check can be done.
Substitute Fingerprint Fee Reimbursement Program: Substitute employees that began working for the district after August 30, 2006 will be eligible for reimbursement of the amount paid to obtain a Department of Education fingerprint/background check. Substitute employees must have worked a total of five (5) days or 40 hours to qualify for the reimbursement. Forms are available at the district office.
After you have filled out the application and your fingerprints have been submitted, you will be put on the Guest Teacher list that is then sent out to the school secretaries. The secretaries are responsible for calling the subs for their buildings.
At the beginning of each semester, our district offers a free, one-day substitute training. More information about the training can be found at http://stedi.org. Free registration is required to participate in the activities on the site.
After you are a guest teacher at a school you will fill out a Guest Teacher Payroll Form which is turned into the District office for payroll every month. The District pays once a month on the 25th of every month.
