Severe Weather

Now that winter has finally arrived in McCall we are taking this opportunity to inform the public about the McCall-Donnelly School District guidelines for school closures.

Severe weather conditions present a unique set of challenges in Idaho. Transportation is often affected by icy roads, extreme cold temperatures, and heavy snowfall.

In the event of severe weather, the Valley county roads Department contacts the Superintendent to report road conditions by 5:45 AM.

School closures will be communicated to staff and student emergency contact numbers using the AlertNow phone notification system. Follow-up information regarding canceled activities will be displayed on the district web site.

As always, a parent’s decision regarding the welfare of his/her child is paramount. If parents feel it is in the child’s best interest to remain home in adverse weather situations, the absence will be recorded as excused.
